(Unwinding) Corridor is a succession of five articulated white neon frames, displayed in the corner of a wall, and standing out from a black monochromatic background. This construction uses light and paint as fundamental material to occupy the space in a both concrete and intangible manner. The morphology of the work changes according to the viewpoints and the movements of the spectator. Early stages of an architectural blueprint, or syncopated reel of a film, of which only its matrix would remain, this installation also constitutes the attempted making of a landscape-painting.

Vincent Lamouroux's sculptures and installations appropriate spaces of entertainment as well as the forms assumed by science-fiction and the idea of progress. In his works he deliberately uses low-tech or unremarkable materials such as wood, steel or manufactured neon tubes. He then tries and retranscribes formally the apparent aspiration for movement and projection of these futuristic structures, while emphasizing obsolescence as their common fate. Between the heaviness of the materials used and the weightlessness of their forms, Lamouroux's works attempt to thwart the strategies of decontextualization and control inherent in these spaces.
