Lorenzo Benedetti, born in 1972 in Rome is actually Director of the Art Center of De Vleeshal, Middelburg, in the Netherlands. He studied Art history at the University La Sapienza in Rome and attended the "Curatorial Training Programme" at De Appel Foundation in Amsterdam. In 2005 he founded the Sound Art Museum in Rome, a space dedicated to sound in visual art. He has been the director of the art centre Volume! in Rome and a curator at the Museum Marta Herford, in Herford, Germany. His recent projects include Eurasia, Geographic Cross-over in Art, Mart, Rovereto, Italy; Cabinet of Imagination, Netwerk, Aalst, Belgium, Der eigene Weg, Perpektiven Belgischen Kunst, MMK Kuppersmuhle, Duisburg, Germany. He was guest curator at La Kunsthalle in Mulhouse, France La Notte and The Garden of the Forking Paths, Les sculptures meurent aussi.
