Fredrik Svensk works as a critic and curator and as a contemporary art theory scholar and teacher at Valand School of Fine Art, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. 2004-2007 he was a editor at Paletten, and has been contributing to journals, books and newspapers such as: Glänta, SITE, Paletten, Sarai, Neue Review, Anarchitecture, Paris, Res Publica and Göteborgs-Posten. As a curator he has developed an experimental research based curatorial practice in collaboration with Lisa Rosendahl and Henrik Andersson at the Röda Sten, Gothenburg (2006-). Recent projects: ÄKTA VARA (true being / true commodity) 2007 was investigating different contemporary processes of subjectivation, with artists Debora Elgeholm, Annika Eriksson, Isabell Heimerdinger, Saskia Holmkvist, Katya Sander and Carey Young. ART AFTER EDUCATION, 2008 reexamines the critical aspects of the method used in Adrian Pipers work Bach Whistled, 1970, by putting it into a contemporary socio-political context, with works artists Elke Marhöfer, Ida Börjel, Malmö Free University for Women.
