Vanilla brings the work of artists George Henry and Nicolas Deshayes Longly that explore issues of taste and desire within the private and public space. By choosing the term "vanilla" as the title of the exhibition, the artists play in the definition of "taste", as both aesthetic judgments and as flavor. Seen in Europe until the 19th century as an exotic spice, mainly because of difficulties due to its imports from Central America and South America, vanilla (the word has the same etymological root as the word "vagina" ) is now used polysemous way to describe both the sweetness of a warm, cocoon, the little notes confectionery sweet and comforting. In the colloquial Anglo-Saxon "vanilla" is also a reference to sexual "norms". The works in the exhibition refer so subversive, but diverted to the presentation tools of advertising, public information as well as furniture. Distortion of meaningful fun and use free of stylistic motifs in reference to sexual taboos of everyday life, and Deshayes Longly sharpen the appetite and offer flavors that go well beyond the simple taste of vanilla.
