Every year since 1999, the Fondation d'entreprise Ricard Prize has been rewarding a young artist from the French art scene.

The Prize exhibition is entrusted to a curator or artist, who offers a forward-looking view of art in France today. Awarded by a jury made up of past winners, curators of previous Prizes as well as collectors, the Prize consists of the purchase of one of the winning artist’s works, which is then given to the Musée national d’art moderne at the Centre Pompidou, where it is exhibited. Since 2014, the Fondation Prize has also been making it possible for the artist to create a personal project abroad. With the Prize, the Fondation is endeavouring to bring more recognition to artists under the age of 40, not only among art professionals but also among a wide spectrum of the public.
