When creating a SASU, the tradename must be declared at the business formalities center (CFE) or at the registry of the commercial court. Once these formalities have been completed, this statement is entered in the Trade and Companies Register (RCS) and appears on the company's K-bis extract.

Note that several other documents must be completed and sent during the formalities for setting up a SASU.

As soon as the SASU is registered with the RCS, its name is exclusively attached to it. From that moment, it can prohibit other companies from using it.

Change the commercial name of a SASU

The sole partner of a SASU can change at any time corporate name. In order to make this adjustment, the following steps should be followed:

  • decision taken by the sole shareholder and drafting of minutes,
  • modification of the statutes of the SASU,
  • publication of a legal announcement on the change of trade name,
  • constitution and sending of a file to the registry of the commercial court or to the CFE.
